As part of the exciting upgrade at Shangri-La, which includes the renovations of its hotel rooms, a brand new room category has been added to the 4-star country hotel’s offering.
The new Executive Family Room, which falls in the property’s “Executive” category, offers 2 bedrooms that sleeps 4 guests. Shangri-La has become more and more popular with families of four, and the need to to introduce a 4-sleeper option without having to book separate bedrooms was identified.
Earlier this year Shangri-La opened the first of its Executive Family Rooms, consisting of two interleading bedrooms both sleeping two guests, and each room with its own private bathroom. The spacious rooms also offers a private balcony.
Late September saw the second Executive Family Room open its doors. The two gorgeous rooms saw a complete renovation of the old layout, adding new entrances and extending the bathroom and the floor layout. Like its sibling, the new Executive Family Room has a private patio that overlooks the adjacent fenced game camp.
“What makes these bedrooms unique,” says Managing Director Stef Venter, “is the fact that we can now accommodate families with two children, where we in the past offered a Family Room with space for just one child. The rooms’ private outdoor spaces are just another feature that makes this room type even more special.” The rooms can also be separated and utilized as individual bedrooms when Shangri-La hosts large conferences and weddings, adding a greater capacity to go with the hotel’s large venues. A third Executive Family Room is planned to be added in the coming months.
